Getting To Church on Sunday 22nd March
This Sunday, 22nd March, the only service in our Ministry Area will be at St Davids at 10.30am.
Due to a clash with the Merthyr Half Marathon, we are expecting the town centre to be busier than usual.
Some people will also find their route to church affected by road closures.
As over 700 runners are expected, we recommend arriving at church earlier than usual, to allow sufficient time for parking.
Road Closures and Parking
Road closures will begin at approximately 9:30am.
Anyone who arrives and parks before this time should not be affected. Most runners are expected to park close to the college.
Cardiff Road will be closed from the south of Troedyrhiw towards Merthyr Vale.
If you are travelling from the other side of Troedyrhiw between 9:30am and 10:30am, we advise using the A470 to avoid the road closures towards Merthyr.
Plymouth Street (from Aldi to Motorfix) will be closed from 9:30am until approximately 11:00am.
Access to Tesco, and the car parks near St Tydfil’s, will be available via the A470 roundabout at Rhydycar.
Avenue De Clichy will also remain accessible from Pont Morlais and Bethesda Street, allowing travel through the town centre (including access to Castle Car Park), and onwards to the Aldi roundabout.
Please note that the town centre will remain unaffected.
